Fire and Forget 13.03.2014

Fire and Forget - 2014 - Replica of Hellfire Missile,

Acrylic, Indian kite thread, dimensions 2m x 1.2m x 3m

Fire and Forget is an installation of 168 individual threads of cotton each one representing a child that has been killed by U.S. Army drone strikes in the Pakistan Region. The threads of cotton are draped over a scale reproduction of an AGM-114 Hellfire missile which is used on the MQ-9 Reaper Drones that are active in that area.

The Killing Jar project aims to highlight the fatalities of war on both sides of the current Afghan conflict. This latest piece focuses on the U.S Drone strikes in Pakistan that have so far killed between 168 and 200 children. The work is overtly political as it calls into question the forces behind such acts.
